That's why you shouldn't automatically assume an older or higher-mileage diesel isn't worth much. Mileage matters, but so do the truck's year, engine, drivetrain, cab configuration, 4x4 capability, trim, maintenance history and overall condition.

Should You Downsize?

Maybe. If most of your driving now consists of commuting, errands and highway trips without a trailer attached, you may discover that a smaller pickup—or even something other than a truck—fits your current life better.
